Meet Houston Dentist Dr. C. R. Hoopingarner, DDS

Dr. Hoopingarner Houston TMJ Dr. Hoopingarner was graduated with honors from Memorial High School, Houston Texas, in 1966. After attending Texas Tech University from 1966 to 1969 he entered the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Dental Branch graduating with a DDS in 1973.

Dr. Hoopingarner has maintained a private dentistry practice in Houston Texas since 1973. He was an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Anatomical Sciences for 11 years. While serving as a co-director of the Temporomandibular Disorders section of the General Practice Residency program, Dr. Hoopingarner helped establish the University wide Craniofacial pain team. He directed the Mini-residency Program in Temporomandibular Disorders through the continuing education department and presented multiple course to post grad departments in TMD and undergrads in their cosmetic elective. Dr. Hoopingarner has been a Clinical Instructor at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies since 1997, teaching Advanced Anterior Aesthetics and Comprehensive Anterior Reconstruction in a live patient educational format. Dr. Hoopingarner has lectured across the country and in Canada on subjects such as Temporomandibular Disorders, Orofacial Pain, Occlusal Reconstruction and Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Hoopingarner has been a member of the ADA, TDA, and GHDS since 1973. He has been membership committee chairman, Editorial reviewer and business manager of the GHDS Journal, a TDA delegate, as well as Program director and General Chairman of the "Star of the South" dental meeting.
